The Fold-A-Way work bench appears as a normal wall mounted cabinet when
closed. When opened it converts to a full size heavy duty work bench with
detachable legs for added strength when working on big projects.
The secret to its ease of motion is hidden out of site behind the peg
board. The work benches have four heavy duty gas shocks and the miter
saw cabinet has three.
Together they produce a force of almost 800 pounds. The force of the shocks
is used to counter balance the pivot section of the work surface. This
enables the work bench to be moved up or down with little effort. Tools
such as vises and bench grinders and miter saws can be attached to the
work bench. Adding additional items to the workbench has little effect
to the ease of use.
The Fold-A-Way Drop Down Cabinets work on a similar principle. The cabinets
have one gas shock that moves a leverage arm to counter balance the weight
of the shelves. When in the upright position, the shelves are locked.
Lowering the shelves to eye level for easy access is as simple as releasing
the lock with a slight pull of the handle. The shelves then simply glide
down for easy access.
